Heather Locklear’s Struggle To Become An Inner Architect Of Change: Claiming Your New Life And How To Do It

Heather Locklear was America’s sweetheart at one time in her life. The creator of a superstar career on TV with a long running collaboration with mega TV producer Aaron Spelling, Locklear’s credits include the highly successful Dynasty, TJ Hooker, and super soap Melrose Place. Her popularity was so powerful that Spelling cast her in both TJ Hooker and Dynasty at the same time.

Whether playing a cop, a vixen, or a corporate exec in her role on “Spin City”, Heather seemed at ease with change and adapting to anything thrown at her.

Sadly as recently as March of this year stories began to surface about Locklear’s battle with anxiety and depression.

Culmination of a Battle

Heather recently checked herself into an unnamed Arizona “rehab” center for depression and anxiety. According to sources close to the actress she “requested an in-depth evaluation of her medication and entered into a medical facility for proper diagnosis and treatment.”

“. . . she has had a rough year. . . she decided to heed doctors’ orders and re-evaluate her medical condition at an in-patient treatment facility.”

“She wanted to feel better and get to the bottom of what was troubling her” according to People.com sources

Statement of Support

In the most heartfelt statement of support, former co-star and new boyfriend Jack Wagner:

“Anyone who has the courage to seek help in order to live a healthy life gets my support 110 percent.”

“Considering Change”

In making the decision that she could not live her current life, Heather Locklear began the journey of becoming an inner architect. She applied Susan Hanshaw’s Phase 1’s “Recognize your choices” as her first step to reaching out for help

“Moving into Your New Life”

As Heather heals and begins to step into her new life she will come to the realization that it is not going to be an easy process, transition, or change.

In Susan Hanshaw’s Inner Architect: How To Build The Life You Were Designed To Live” we can see that she will be coming to grips with Phase 6 concepts:

1. The importance of claiming your new life and how to do it

2. How to break through the insecurities of being new (in your new way of life)

3. How to break through barriers to success (fears, old habits, comfortable associations)

Our Hopes For Change

We are pulling for Heather’s recovery and transformation. Although no location has been released, we are trying to send Heather our work as a token of our support, as a gesture of love, and as a road map of change.

Inner Architect Workshop “Transition: An Opportunity To Renew Your Possibilities”: Experience Unlimited Presentation Raises Awareness

In support of people going through life and career transitions, Susan spoke to 55 members of the employment group, Experience Unlimited, in Lafayette, California on June 24, 2008. Her workshop:

Transition: An Opportunity To Renew Your Possibilities”

1. Learn how your beliefs play a role in the life you create
2. Create a clear vision of the career you wish to build
3. Identify the beliefs that may be holding you back from building this career
4. Learn the steps for developing a strong belief in yourself
5. Identify things you can do to strengthen your belief and release your obstacles

Value of Susan’s Workshop Style

1. Comfortable Atmosphere: Susan’s presentation style and focus come from her heart. Her desire to help people and her ability to create trust through this genuine communication style, combine to create a uninhibited atmosphere for people to participate and “let their hair down” as one attendee noted.

2. Customized Workshop: Susan adjusts her workshops to what she is able to help attendees get in touch with during the presentation. She encourages input and participation–most important she follows up the ideas that come forth during interaction.

3. Instant Intelligence: by allowing each workshop to follow the attendees challenges, Susan is required to think quickly, think deeply, and provide answers on the spot. Her strength is this ability to adapt without skipping a beat.

Crowd Reaction

During the workshop, Susan was able to entice a number of people to tell their “story”, “fear”, or “challenge” to the group. This open forum style had the attendees sharing, helping, and providing feedback valuable to the entire group.

The most interesting responses:

“I have more control than I thought”
“I didn’t know how to plan for a change until now”
“I guess I get in my own way without realizing it”
“When can I attend another one of your workshops?”

Transitioning Into Your New Life: Where Do You Go For Employment Help In Silicon Valley?

Today’s CSIX Silicon Valley networking meeting was another example of why I am willing to drive 65 miles through three counties, 60+ minutes of mayhem similar to LA style freeway traffic in order to attend: it’s the “touches.” The personal nature of this meeting is it’s strength as people are given the opportunity to really meet, build relationships, and foster the ultimate connection-friendship.

Hamid Saadat, the sparkling presence with MC qualities and charismatic flair, provided much needed reminders of the importance of a clean-updated resume. He gave away 3 timely handouts: Top 10 Guidelines-Resume; The Eight Worst Things to Say in an Interview; and Networking, what not to do. This dovetailed perfectly with impromptu presenter Pamela Livingston of M Shift.

Pamela a woman of obvious boundless energy, provided what was the best most succinct tips of the day. She spoke of the importance of networking, the idea that nearly every waking moment of the day is an opportunity to network, and most important of all–give value and give often.

As the Vice President of Business Development for M Shift, Pamela related stories of her own employment history, her strategy in becoming more valuable to an organization, and a general approach to life that has a lets get it done together feeling.
